Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Falls to Immaculata

ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's soccer team suffered a home setback on Saturday afternoon, falling in Atlantic East Conference play by a score of 4-1 to rival Immaculata University.

Zach Desrosier scored for the Knights in the loss, while Seth Walker made eight saves in goal.

The first half would be very evenly played, but a minute stretch midway through the frame would define the period. Two Neumann miscues in their own end gifted the Mighty Macs a pair of goals in a span of just 49 seconds to leave the Knights shell-shocked and down 2-0 with 20 minutes to go in the opening stanza. The hosts fought back with several late chances in the half, but could not put a ball past the Immaculata keeper as two goal deficit remained heading to halftime.

Neumann opened the period with a few quality shots, but were again hit on the counter in the 53rd minute as the game began to slip away. Things got worse just four minutes later, as an Immaculata free kick from distance beat a diving Walker to make it 4-0 in favor of the visitors. The Knights were able to get one back off a long throw-in as Desrosier scored in the 69th minute to make it 4-1, but Neumann could not get anything else going the rest of the way. The Mighty Macs stymied the hosts for the final 20 minutes of play and took home the comfortable 4-1 win in the pivotal conference matchup.

Neumann (4-11-1, 2-3 Atlantic East) will look to shake off the loss before returning to action on Wednesday, October 30th for Senior Day on the team's final regular season game. Kick-off for the contest is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
