Field Hockey Travels to Griffins in First Round Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team will travel to Gwynedd Mercy University for Atlantic East first round action on Saturday, November 2.
 
The Knights will be the No. 6 seed in the postseason while the Griffins are the No. 3 seed. The other first round game will feature No. 4 seeded Cabrini hosting No. 5 seeded Immaculata. Marywood is the No. 1 seed while Wesley will be the No. 2 seed. Both teams receive a bye and will host a semifinal game on Wednesday.
 
For the season, Bri Lagroteria leads the Knights with eight goals so far this season. Sam Picker has scored six while Rachel Koerner has added five. Defensively, Lizzie Yu has made 156 saves over 15 games. Tiffany Flowers has jumped in with six defensive saves. Lizzie Frame has added three defensive saves.
 
The Knights traveled to the Griffins just a week ago and fell 4-2. Flowers scored both goals for Neumann. Yu made 14 saves in net.
 
The winner of the first-round games will travel to the No. 1 and 2 seeds on Wednesday, November 6 for semifinal action. The winners of the semifinal contests will compete for the second Atlantic East Championship on Saturday, November 9.
