ASTON, Pa. -- The Neumann University women's ice hockey team dropped to UMass Boston 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The first period of the match was a hard battle between both teams ending scoreless. In the second period it was Beacons who put two points goals, the first coming three minutes into the period. The second goal was scored on the power play in the final minute of the period. The Knights fought back hard in the third period but could not get on the board and the Beacons took the 2-0 win.

The Knights were outshot 33-14.
Helen Cooney made 31 saves in between the pipes.

Neumann (1-1) will prepare to host Alvernia on Friday in its first conference contest of the season. Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
