ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University woman's basketball team fell to host Muhlenberg College 72-55 on Friday evening in first day of the Scotty Wood Tournament.
 
Chelsea Keebler led the Knights with 23 points, including four baskets from downtown. Shaylah Green added 13 points while Kendra Warren netted 11 points.
 
The Mules built a 16-8 advantage in the first quarter and took a 18-10 lead after the first 10 minutes. The Knights pulled to within three on a three-pointer by Keebler with 2:38 left in the first half.  Muhlenberg took a 33-29 lead into halftime.
 
Muhlenberg built a lead of nine, 40-31, midway through the third quarter. Neumann scored six straight points to pull within three, 40-37, with 4:11 on the clock. The Mules finished the half on an 11-4 run to take a 51-41 lead into the final 10 minutes. Muhlenberg held a double-digit lead throughout the fourth quarter en route to the 72-55 final.
 
Neumann (2-2) will face Penn State Abington in the consolation game tomorrow beginning at 1:00 PM.
