SHELTON, Conn. - The Neumann University women's ice hockey team couldn't keep its weekend momentum rolling on Tuesday afternoon as the Knights fell by a score of 5-0 in a non-conference action to Post University.
 
Alexa Lamplugh got the start in goal, stopping 41 shots in the defeat.
 
A slow start to the game saw each team have first period chances, but neither team finish them off. Neumann outshot the Eagles by a count of 14-12, but the game remained 0-0 heading to the first intermission.
 
Both goaltenders continued to be the game's best players in the second stanza, as the pair of net-minders stopped 28 of 29 shots. Lamplugh stopped 15 shot attempts, but one puck would get by her late in the period to give Post a 1-0 lead moving to the final frame.
 
As the game moved into its final 20 minutes, the Eagles gained total control of the contest. Outshooting the Knights 18-6, Post found the back of the net four times in the period to skate away with the 5-0 non-conference win.
 
Neumann (5-3, 4-1 UCHC) will have this weekend off before returning to action at the Keystone Holiday Classic on December 6th and 7th. The Knights will take on host Alvernia University in Friday, December 6th at 8:00 PM.
