ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell to Manhattanville College 70-53 on Monday evening in a non-conference game.
Shaylah Green netted 21 points for the Knights. The sophomore hit three three-pointers and went 10-for-14 from the line.
The Valiants scored the first five points of the contest and never looked back. Midway through the first quarter, Manhattanville took a double-digit advantage, 15-5.
Kiara Stovall hit a lay-up and-one to pull the Knights to within six, 20-14, just before the end of the first quarter. The Valiants hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for a 23-14 score at the first break.
Manhattanville continued to build its lead during the second quarter to take a 48-31 lead into halftime. The Knights kept pace with the Valiants through the second half, but Manhattanville used the lead built in the first half to come away with the 70-53 lead.
Neumann (4-6) will wrap up action for 2019 when it travels to Wilkes on Thursday evening. Tip-off is slated for 6:00 PM.
