ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team defeated the University of Valley Forge 87-60 on Thursday evening in a non-conference contest.
Terea Hunt led five Knights in double-figures with 17 points.
Kiara Stovall tallied 14 points. Three Knights notched double-doubles.
Kamryn Englert scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Tierra Harris had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Kortni Taylor added 11 points and 12 boards. All eight players to hit the court scored at least four points in the team win.
The Patriots started out hot, taking an early 9-0 lead. A layup by Stovall with under two minutes left in the first quarter put Neumann up 18-17. With the teams knotted at 20, the Knights scored the final four points of the quarter for a 24-20 lead after 10 minutes.
Midway through the second quarter, the teams had a tied game at 32. Neumann then went on an 11-2 run for a nine-point lead. The Knights held a 44-39 advantage at the break.
The Knights held the Patriots at arm's length and built a 12-point lead after three quarters. The Knights continued to build their lead throughout the fourth quarter to come away with the 87-60 win.
Neumann (4-4) will head to Salisbury on Saturday for the last game before finals. Action is slated to get underway at 1:00 PM.
