EWING, N.J. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team suffered defeat for the first time this season, dropping a non-conference matchup at the hands of TCNJ by a score of 16-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Kaitlin Conrad led the team with five shots in the loss, while Catriona Corrigan made three saves in net.

The Lions took the play to Neumann from the opening draw, scoring just 32 seconds into the contest to set the tone for a dominant first half. After the early goal, TCNJ kept its foot on the pedal, racing to eight more goals in an eight minute span to take a 9-0 lead at the 21:25 mark of the first frame. The hosts then tacked on two more tallies late in the half to take a commanding 11-0 lead into the halftime break.

Neumann looked to get back into the game in the second half, but TCNJ continued to control play. The Lions suffocated the Knights attack, limiting the visitors to just seven shots for the game. Facing that defense, Neumann could not find the back of the net on the afternoon. TCNJ registered five more second half goals and took home the comfortable 16-0 victory.

Neumann (1-1) will have a week off before returning to action in Florida on Saturday, March 2nd for another non-conference game versus Eastern University. Game-time in Orlando is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
