LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team battled at Cairn University on Wednesday evening, but fell 3-0 in a Continental Volleyball Conference match.
Roddy Rountree tallied 10 kills for the Knights.
Jules Maiorano handed out 12 assists.
The Knights started the match off strong and took an early 5-1 lead. The Highlanders came back and the teams went back and forth. Cairn then took a 12-8 lead and stayed a few points ahead for the 25-19 first set win.
The teams remained close throughout the second set. The Knights made it to set point and held a 24-21 lead, but could not get that final point and the Highlanders came back for the 26-24 second set win.
In the third set Cairn took and 8-8 game and rattled off 11 straight points for a 19-8 lead. The Highlanders took the final set 25-17.
Neumann (0-4, 0-2 CVC) will return home on Friday and will host Randolph-Macon in a conference match beginning at 7:00 PM.
