ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team was victorious in its 2019 home opener on Monday afternoon, picking up a convincing 18-6 win over Holy Family in non-conference action.
Kaitlyn Conrad was dominant on the attack, scoring eight goals and three assists for 11 points on the day.
Reilly Fiedler had four goals,
Brylin Adams added three tallies and
Catriona Corrigan made 21 saves in goal to pick up the win.
The Knights dominated from the opening draw, scoring the game's first six goals to go up 6-0 midway through the half. Conrad and Adams each had two goals in the run, while Fiedler and
Courtney Petrucelli also scored. The remainder of the half would be evenly played as each team tallied four goals apiece. Conrad remained the offensive catalyst for the Knights, registering three of those late half goals to give the hosts a 10-4 lead at halftime.
Neumann continued its stellar play in the second stanza. Corrigan was excellent in the final 30 minutes, holding the Tigers to just two goals in the frame as the Knights cruised the rest of the way. Conrad again led the way with a second half hat trick, while Fiedler capped off her four-goal game with two more goals of her own.
Neumann (3-1) gets right back to action on Thursday, March 14th with another non-conference matchup at Alvernia University. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
