MEDIA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team found its way back into the win column on Saturday afternoon, taking home an 8-1 victory in Atlantic East Action over Gwynedd Mercy University.
Neumann started hot in doubles play on the day, taking home victories at all three flights.
Daniel Rival and
Jordan Collins picked up an 8-6 victory at first doubles,
Rod Bradbury and
Nick Testa paired up for an 8-7 (7-5) win at second doubles and
Evan King and
John Beck partnered up for an 8-5 win at third doubles.
The Knights continued to dominate as the match moved to singles, winning five of the six matches. Rival, Collins, Beck and
Zach Dakin all won their matches in straight sets, while King needed a third set tiebreak to take home a win at fourth singles. With the five wins in singles play, the hosts clinched the 8-1 win.
Neumann (5-1, 2-0 Atlantic East) will look to stay unbeaten in Atlantic East play next Thursday, April 18
th when the team plays host to rival Cabrini University. The match is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
