SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team closed out its regular season schedule with a comfortable 7-0 victory at Marywood University on Saturday afternoon.
Missing a few key contributors on the day, the Knights still controlled the match from start to finish.
Evan King and
John Beck bumped up to first doubles and picked up a 8-1 victory, while
Jordan Collins and
Zach Dakin won by default at second doubles.
The Knights also took home wins in each singles match that was played. Collins was victorious at first singles (6-1, 6-0),
Zach Dakin won at second singles (6-0, 6-0) and
Shane Marino picked up his first victory of the season at third singles (7-6, 6-4). King and Beck both won by default at fourth and fifth singles respectively to seal the 7-0 win.
Neumann (7-3, 3-1 Atlantic East) will look to keep its momentum rolling as it enters the Atlantic East Conference playoffs next week. The team will take on Gwynedd Mercy University in the conference semifinals on Thursday, May 2
nd at 1:00 PM.
