MEDIA, Pa. - The Neumann University women's tennis team fell in its first ever Atlantic East Conference matchup on Friday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 result to Immaculata University.
Immaculata controlled the match from start to finish, earning all three wins at doubles in convincing fashion.
Olivia Warren and
Egypt Bell took one game from the Mighty Macs at second doubles but lost by a count of 8-1.
The Mighty Macs continued to dominate play as the match moved to singles. Immaculata took home wins in each of the six contests to take home the comfortable 9-0 win. Bell and
Maddy Varney battled in their matches at third and fourth singles respectively, but each fell 6-1, 6-1.
Neumann (0-4, 0-1 Atlantic East) will return to action next Tuesday, April 9th when the team heads to Penn State Brandywine. The non-conference matchup is scheduled for 3:30 PM.
