Field Hockey Drops Season Opener to Aggies

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision in the 2019 season opener at Delaware Valley College on Friday afternoon.
 
The Aggies struck quickly with a goal in the 10th minute. Delaware Valley added a goal in the 22nd minute and took the 2-0 lead into halftime. The Aggies netted two more goals in the fourth quarter for a 4-0 lead before the Knights got on the board.
 
Rachel Koerner scored her first collegiate goal in the 58th minute as there was a scramble in front of the game and she put her stick on the ball. Erica D'Mello assisted. Lizzie Yu played all 60 minutes in net and made 13 saves in net.
 
Neumann (0-1) will open its home schedule on Wednesday when it hosts Centenary for a non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 PM.
