ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Berks in straight sets, 3-0, on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-20, 25-18 and 25-16.
Melanie Malseed led the Knights with 18 kills and 24 digs.
Hayley Glah tallied 13 digs,
Bre Hickey 12 and
Carlee Herrin 11.
Rachel Cray handed out 25 assists in two sets and
Alex Koppany tallied 12 in the final set.
A kill by Hickey sealed the first set win for the Knights. Penn State Berks started out the second set strong by scoring the first six points. Neumann fought its way back and took set two with three straight kills by Malseed.
Ariana Pena sealed the win for the Knights with the match winning kill in set three.
Neumann (3-7) will host its annual Knights Invitational this weekend. Action gets underway on Friday at 4:00 PM.
