ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team picked up a 3-0 win over Elizabethtown College on Wednesday evening.
Bre Hickey led the Knights with 17 kills and a .419 hitting percentage.
Ariana Pena tallied 13 kills and a .476 hitting percentage.
Melanie Malseed added 12 kills with a .306 hitting percentage.
Rachel Cray handed out 40 assists and added four service aces. Hickey, Malseed and Cray all notched 13 digs.
Hayley Glah added 12.
Each set remained close. In set one, the teams battled and were knotted at 16. Kills by Malseed and Hickey put the Knights up by two. The Blue Jays would score a point, but the Knights answered right back and a kill by Hickey sealed the 25-21 first set win.
Sets two and three were just like set one where neither team was able to pull away by more than a couple points. But as in the first set, the Knights kept their foot on the gas pedal and won set two 25-20 and fine clincher 25-22.
Neumann (6-9) will host Rowan and Lebanon Valley for tri-match on Saturday. Action gets underway at 11:00 AM.
