ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team opened Atlantic East Conference action with a 76-49 loss to Cabrini University on Wednesday evening.
Chelsea Keebler (so. Medford, N.J. / Neumann-Goretti) hit four three-pointers and led the Knights with 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Lauren Leicht (jr. Briarcliffe, Pa. / Cardinal O'Hara) added 11 points.
The Cavaliers opened the game scoring the first nine points. Back-to-back baskets by
Kamryn Englert and
Jaylin Ortiz put the Knights on the board. Cabrini kept its foot on the gas petal and built a 26-7 lead after the first 10 minutes.
Neumann outscored Cabrini 16-11 in second quarter to cut into the lead. The Cavaliers held a 37-23 advantage at halftime. Cabrini continued to built its lead throughout the second half, always leading by double-digits, and cruise to the 76-49 win.
Neumann (4-10, 0-1 Atlantic East) is right back in conference action this weekend as it hosts Wesley. Action is slated to get underway at 1:00 PM.
