AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Neumann University baseball team fell in a doubleheader to Muhlenberg College on Sunday during its spring break trip. The Mules won the games by 9-1 and 9-2 scores.
In the first game,
Ryan Farley started his first collegiate game. He went four innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits while striking out five.
Matt Grosse went two innings and allowed four unearned runs on one hit. He struck out four.
Danny Padilla pitched the seventh inning.
Zach Ray had two hits in the game for the Knights. Neumann scored its run in the third inning.
Joe Murray walked to start the inning. He stole second and moved to third on an error. Collin Pollard singled in Murray.
In game two,
Michael Byrne started his first game for the Knights. He went 3+ innings and allowed seven runs, five earned, on seven hits.
Nick Glebocki went 2.2 innings and allowed two runs on four hits.
Billy Hunt got the last out.
The Knights scored their two runs in the top of the seventh inning on two bases loaded walks.
Neumann (1-2) will face Emerson College tomorrow afternoon as the spring break trip continues. First pitch is slated for 3:00 PM.
