ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University women's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action on Tuesday afternoon, dropping a 12-4 result to visiting Hood College.
 
Brylin Adams led the offense on the afternoon with three goals, while Courtney Petrucelli also scored. Catriona Corrigan continued to be excellent in goal despite the scoreline, stopping 13 shots in the loss.
 
Hood took the play to the Knights early in the contest, opening the game with four unanswered goals in the first 15 minutes of play to lead 4-0. Adams cut the deficit to three with a man up goal at 9:17, but two more Blazer goals late in the frame made it 6-1. The game looked to be heading to halftime at the same scoreline, but Adams had other ideas. The sophomore attacker tallied her second goal of the day as time expired in the half to make it 6-2 at the break.
 
Neumann could not carry over any momentum from the late first half goal though into the second stanza. Hood took a stranglehold of the matchup with the first five goals of the half to bring the score to 11-2 with 14:32 left to play. The Knights got a pair of goals back from Adams and Petrucelli late in the period, but a 12th goal from the Blazers at 4:34 sealed the comfortable 12-4 win for the visitors.
 
Neumann (0-4) hits the road for its next game at Rutgers Camden on Thursday, March 12th. Game-time is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
