NEWARK, N.J. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a 12-2 decision at Rutgers-Newark on Wednesday afternoon.
Ryan Farley started the game and went 1.1 innings in the loss. He allowed 11 runs on 11 hits.
Billy Hunt came in and went 2.2 innings, allowing one run on four hits.
Brennan Hatala pitched 4.0 scoreless inning.
The Knights got on the board first as
Jake Urena singled in
Andrew Fowler. The Scarlet Raiders scored two in the bottom of the first inning.
Nick Glebocki walked to lead off the second inning and scored on a passed ball for a 2-1 score. Rutgers-Newark put together nine runs on nine hits in the bottom o the second for an 11-1 lead. The Scarlet Raiders added one more in the third.
Neither team scored through the final 5.5 innings and Rutgers-Newark came away with the 12-2 win.
Neumann (4-7) will host St. John Fisher on Saturday for a doubleheader beginning at 12:00 PM.
