ASTON, Pa. - The Neumann University men's soccer team couldn't solve visiting Immaculata University on Wednesday afternoon, falling on Senior Night by a score of 2-0.
 
Seth Walker made two saves in goal for the Knights in the loss, while Alex Duopu and Sam Clavijo led the team with four shots apiece.
 
After honoring their three seniors prior to the contest, (Corey Madigan, Marlon Trejo and Zach Wille) the Knights looked to continue to climb the Atlantic East Conference standings with a win over the rival Mighty Macs. Things started well for Neumann as the team was solid in possession early in the match, but the hosts could not parlay that possession into goals. Despite outshooting Immaculata by a count of 6-3 in the opening half, the visitors cashed in on their only shot on target in the period, heading home a crossed ball from the right side to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
 
The Knights hoped to claw their way back into the contest in the second half, but the Mighty Macs had other ideas. Immaculata again scored against the run of play on a counter 13 minutes into the second stanza to grab a 2-0 lead that it would not relinquish. Neumann peppered shots at the visitors' goal all second half long, but none of the 10 efforts would find the back of the net as the game finished 2-0 in favor of Immaculata.
 
Neumann (5-10, 2-2 Atlantic East) will need to rebound quickly as it has just two days to prepare for a trip to Marymount University on Saturday, October 23rd. Game-time is scheduled for 1:00 PM.
