SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team fell to Marywood University 1-0 in double overtime on Wednesday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference play in the regular season finale.
The Pacers broke through in the 104
th minute.
Marissa Waters was busy in net, making 12 saves while keeping the Knights in the game.
Emily Cooper and
Belle Hughes had the shots for Neumann in the game. Hughes had her shot blocked just 35 seconds into the game. Cooper had her chance in the 22
nd minute, when the Pacers goalie made the save.
Midway through the first overtime, the Knights had a corner kick, but could not get a shot off.
Neumann (6-9, 3-3 Atlantic East) will be the No. 4 seed in the postseason and will host either Immaculata or Centenary on Monday evening in first round action.
