SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team wrapped up Atlantic East Conference play with a 3-0 win at Marywood on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-18, 25-15 and 25-15.
Bre Hickey led the Knights with 10 kills.
Dani Smith handed out 14 assists while
Tori Burgess tallied 12.
Reagan Walker notched 13 digs.
In the first set, the Knights jumped out to an early 11-3 lead. A kill by
Maria Brown gave Neumann the 25-18 set one win. Neumann took a 15-12 edge in the second set and expanded it to 21-12, capped with a service ace by
Ariana Pena. A kill by
Regan Hickey gave the Knights the 25-15 set two win and a 2-0 match lead.
The start of set three went back and forth. Down 9-8, the Knights scored seven straight for a 15-9 lead. The Pacers scored the next four to pull within two, 15-13. Neumann answered with the next five for a 20-13 lead. The Knights scored the final five points for the 25-15 set three win.
Neumann (12-15, 4-2 Atlantic East) will wrap up the regular season on Saturday when it hosts DeSales and Stockton in a tri-match.
