Field Hockey Heads to Gwynedd Mercy for First Round Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team is the No. 6 seed in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs and will head to No. 3 seeded Gwynedd Mercy on Saturday for first round action.
 
Under first year head coach Erik Enters, the Knights are 3-14 this season and 0-5 in the conference. Neumann will take the 0-0 postseason record and look to pull and upset at Gwynedd Mercy.
 
Megan Frame was outstanding in game in the regular season game at Gwynedd Mercy, stopping a stroke in the fourth quarter and making several stellar saves on the goal line and at the posts. The junior finished with five saves in the 2-0 loss.
 
Kylie Fitchett has netted four goals to lead the Knights. Rachel Koerner, Gianna Guido and Bri Zuspann each have scored three.
 
Frame has started all 17 games in the cage for the Knights, making 98 saves.
 
St. Mary's clinched the No. 1 seed while Cabrini holds the No. 2 seed. Marywood (No. 4) and Immaculata (No. 5) will play in the other first round game on Saturday.
 
The winner of Neumann/Gwynedd Mercy and Immaculata/Marywood will advance to the semifinals next Wednesday.
