LANCASTER, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team used a late run in the third quarter to come away with a 58-45 win over Lancaster Bible on Tuesday evening.
Tierra Harris led three Knights in double-figures with 13 points.
Lauren Klieber netted 12 points and
Terea Hunt added 11.
The first quarter went back and forth and featured seven lead changes. Tied at 13, the Chargers took the seventh lead change with a three-pointer for a 16-13 edge they would take to start the second quarter.
Scoring was hard to come by in the second quarter.
Hannah Asaka hit a free throw two minutes into the second and Klieber hit a jumper 45 seconds later to tie the game at 16. The Knights scored the next four points, two free throws by Hunt and a layup by Harris, for a 20-16 lead with four minutes left before halftime. Lancaster Bible tied the game at 20 with its only four points of the half, but Hunt hit the last basket of the half for a 22-20 Neumann advantage at the break.
Midway through the third quarter, and tied at 34, the Knights went on a 12-0 run to end the third and take a 46-34 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Knights would hold a double-digit lead throughout most of the final quarter and led by as many as 16 to come away with the 58-45 win.
Neumann (3-5) will head to Penn State Brandywine next Tuesday for a non-conference matchup beginning at 6:00 PM.
