PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team traveled into Philadelphia on Tuesday evening to face Head Coach
Jim Rullo's alma mater Drexel University in an exhibition contest. The Knights fell to the Dragons 103-74.
Tyler Norwood netted 29 points, including eight three-pointers, for the Knights.
Kyson Rawls added 10 points and eight rebounds.
Tony James added nine rebounds. Thirteen of the 14 Knights that hit the floor notched at least a point or a rebound.
Jalen Vaughns and Norwood netted the first two baskets of the game for an early 5-0 lead. Norwood hit of this three-pointers for a 14-13 Dragons lead before Drexel took off and scored the next 10 points. Neumann pulled within six, 29-22, with six minutes left in the half. The Dragons outscored the Knights 15-7 in the final six minutes for a 44-29 lead at the break.
Drexel steadily added to its lead in the second half to come away with the 103-74 win.
Neumann (2-0) heads to the Widener Tip-Off this weekend. The Knights will face the host Pride at 8:00 PM on Friday.
