ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball fell to Marymount University 69-48 on Wednesday evening in the home opener.
Prior to tip-off, the Knights celebrated their three seniors:
Lauren Leicht,
Kiara Stovall and
Jaylin Ortiz.
Tierra Harris led the Knights on the scoreboard, tallying 14 points.
Dymond Collins netted 11 points while grabbing a team high five rebounds.
The Saints jumped out to an early 10-0 lead.
Terea Hunt put the Knights on the board to start a 7-0 run and a 10-7 score. Marymount scored the final 12 points of the quarter for a 22-7 lead at the first break.
Marymount continued its run in the second quarter with the first seven points. After that, the teams traded baskets and the Saints held a 39-17 lead at halftime.
The teams were even in the third quarter as each team netted 13 points. The fourth quarter was much of the same, but the Saints were able to hold the early lead for the 69-48 final.
Neumann (0-2) will head to St. Mary's College (Md.) on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
