GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match at Rowan University on Tuesday evening. Set scores were 25-16, 25-21 and 25-17.
Lauren Garvey led the Knights with seven kills, one error on 14 attempts for a .429 hitting percentage.
Regan Hickey and
Anna Mansel each added six kills.
Dani Smith tallied 11 assists and
Catie Esslinger handed out 10.
Tori Burgess notched 12 digs.
The Profs got off to an early 4-0 start. The Knights came back and took a 6-5 lead in the first set. Tied at seven, Rowan went on to score five of the next six points for an 11-8 lead. The Profs continued to add to their lead to take the first set 25-16.
Rowan started set two scoring seven of the first nine points. Neumann pulled to within one, 12-11, but the Profs tallied six straight points for an 18-11 lead. The Knights made it back to within three, 24-21, but ran out of time before Rowan could score the set point, 25-21.
The Profs jumped out to a 9-4 lead in the third set and used another run for a 22-10 lead. The Knights scored five straight points for a 22-15 score, but Rowan held on for the 25-17 set three win.
Neumann (6-10) will host Wilkes on Thursday evening. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
