ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team shutout Rosemont College 3-0 on Thursday evening in non-conference action. The win is also head coach Rosie Kay's first with the Knights.
Emily Cooper had a goal and an assist for the Knights.
Belle Hughes and
Lexi Concklin also found the back of the net. The defense held the Ravens to no shots while
Leona Macrina and
Marissa Waters shared time in net for the shutout.
Hughes put Neumann on the board in the 12
th minute as she tapped in a corner kick from Cooper. As time was winding down in the first half, Concklin shot from the top of the 18, after a scramble in front of the net from a corner kick, for a 2-0 lead.
Liz Purcell drew the assist.
Emily Cooper gave the Knights an insurance goal in the 70
th minute and she put the ball in the corner of the net. Neumann outshot Rosemont 25-0 overall, 12 shots on net.
Neumann (1-1) will host Cairn on Tuesday in a non-conference match-up. Action is slated to get underway at 4:00 PM.
