ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team dropped a 4-1 decision to Nazareth College in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) contest on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Flyers got on the board first with just over five minutes remaining in the first period.
Joe DiGiulio tied the game at one with 2:04 on the clock as he put in a shot off an assist from
Brady Mistler. The team went into the first intermission knotted at one.
Nazareth took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period on a breakaway. The Golden Flyers added to its lead with a shorthanded breakaway tally with just under five minutes left in the second. Nazareth took the 3-1 lead into the second intermission.
The Golden Flyers netted an empty net goal to seal the 4-1. The Knights outshot Nazareth 33-25.
Kyle Pantalone made 21 saves in net.
Tyler Kulas was key in the faceoff circle for the Knights, winning 19 faceoffs. Both teams made their way to the penalty box, but both teams were held off the board on the man-advantage. Neumann was 0-for-10 with 14 shots while Nazareth went 0-for-5
Neumann (6-8-1, 3-5-1-1 UCHC) heads to Wilkes next Friday for more conference action beginning at 7:00 PM.
