ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team blanked Atlantic East Conference foe Centenary University 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale.
The lone goal of the game came in the 19
th minute.
Jaclyn Burmood notched her first collegiate assist as she crossed the ball to the front of the net.
Rebecca Spence found the ball in the middle of a scramble and put the ball in the back of the net.
The Knights outshot the Cyclones 16-4 overall and 6-1 on net.
Leona Macrina made the one save needed for the win. Spence led Neumann with five shots.
Emily Montague added four.
The Knights had 11 shots in the second half as they tried to add an insurance goal. Neumann had some looks but could not get the shot to fall. It was enough for the 1-0 win.
Neumann (7-8-3, 4-1-1 Atlantic East) will be the No. 3 seed in the postseason and will host Immaculata on Monday in first round action.
