ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball finished third in the Atlantic East Conference standings and will host Centenary University on Tuesday evening in a first-round match.
 
The Knights finished the regular season 11-18 overall and 4-2 in conference play. The Cyclones went 10-13 during the regular season, 2-4 in the Atlantic East.
 
Regan Hickey leads the Knights with 372 kills this season over 29 matches. The junior also leads the team 61 service aces. Lauren Garvey has added 244 kills. Dani Smith has handed out 833 assists and 47 service aces.
 
Claudia Bournazel anchors the Knights defense with 363 digs. Smith has tallied 294 and Hickey has added 292 digs.
 
During the regular season, Neumann defeated Centenary in straight sets, 3-0. Set scores were 25-9, 25-11 and 25-14. Hickey led the Knights with 12 kills (.429 hitting percentage), eight digs and six service aces. Garvey (.444 hitting percentage) and Maria Brown (.750 hitting percentage, zero errors) each added nine kills. Smith handed out 28 assists and added 10 digs.
 
In the other first round match, No. 4 Marywood hosts No. 5 Gwynedd Mercy. The winners from Tuesday will head to No. 1 seeded Cabrini and No. 2 seeded Marymount on Thursday for the semifinals. The winners on Thursday will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday for the 2022 Atlantic East Championship.
