CAMDEN, N.J.– The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up its second win of the season on Tuesday night, defeating Rutgers University- Camden 66-51.
Lauren Klieber continues to lead the Knights, picking up another double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds.
Lindsay Holden tallied nine points while
Mia Blume added eight.
The Knights started the games by scoring the first six points. Neuman remained hot throughout the first 10 minutes and took a 20-9 lead after one quarter.
After a basket by the Scarlet Raptors to start the second quarter, a three-pointer by Holden put Neumann back up be double-digits, which would be held throughout the rest of the half. The Knights took a 33-19 advantage into the break.
Rutgers-Camden got as close as nine in the third quarter, 35-26. The Knights answered with the next five points, all by Klieber, to extend their lead back to double digits. Neumann took a 50-33 lead into the final quarter. The Scarlet Raptors scored two more points than the Knights in the fourth quarter, but Neumann used the lead built throughout the game to come away with the 66-51 win.
Neumann (2-2) will look to continue its win streak on Thursday when it heads to Albright College. Tip-off is slated for 7:00 PM.
