ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team is the No. 2 seed in the Atlantic East Conference postseason after finishing 10-2 in conference action and 18-7 overall.
 
The Knights defeated Marywood 89-62 in the first round to advance to the semifinals. Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Tony James and KJ Speller each netted 14 points. TJ Lewis added 10 points. Ryan Starr handed out five assists.
 
Neumann will host No. 6 Centenary in semifinal action on Wednesday evening. During the regular season, the Knights took both games. Back on February 5, Neumann won 91-62 on its home court. Vaughns led five Knights in double-digits with 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. Starr netted 17 points and handed out seven assists. Lewis also tallied 17 points. James notched 10 points and eight assists. Justin Smith dropped 10 points.
 
On the road on February 14, Neumann brought home an 86-51 win. All five starters hit double-digits for the Knights, led by Vaughns who netted 28. The sophomore also grabbed 13 rebounds. James tallied 14 points. Starr hit three three-pointers en route to 13 points. Lewis and Speller each added 10 points.
 
For the season, Neumann is led by Vaughns, who is averaging 22.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game over 26 contests. The sophomore leads the team with 28 blocks. James is adding 10.8 points and Lewis tallies 9.3 points per game. 
 
Starr leads the team in three-pointers with 33 this season while also handing out 109 assists and taking 32 steals. James has dished out 61 assists and Lewis 58.
 
In the other semifinal game, No. 5 Immaculata travels to No. 1 Marymount. The winners on Wednesday will meet at the highest remaining seed on Saturday for the 2022 Atlantic East Conference Championship.
