CLERMONT, Fla. – The Neumann University softball team dropped a pair of games at the Spring Games on Monday morning.
In the first game, the Knights fell to Adrian College 8-3.
Courtney McKenna started the game in the circle and went 3.0 innings.
Ashlynne Scardino pitched 4.0 innings in relief and allowed just one unearned run.
Taylor Portzline added another two hits to her early season success. Neumann scored two runs in the third as Portzline singled in
Christina Ludovico. Portzline then scored on a single by
Kat Collins.
In the second game, Neumann fell to Rosemont College 10-2 in five innings.
Erin Grogan went 3-for-3 at the plate.
Ashley Mazzeo started the game in the circle.
Olivia Ammon went 3.2 innings in relief and struck out five.
The Knights got on the board in the third inning as
Vanessa Bowen reached on a fielder choice to score
Kristen Pagliaro. Collins knocked in
Ashley Leicht on a sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Neumann (1-4) will take a rest day tomorrow and face Moravian (10:00 AM) and Calvin (12:15 PM) on Wednesday.
