ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team completed the home-and-home sweep of Rosemont College with a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon. Set scores were 25-11, 25-15 and 25-16.
Christian Johnson led the Knights with eight kills.
Josiah Melendez added seven kills.
Jules Maiorano handed out 18 assists.
Nick Shortlidge tallied 12 digs.
Brandon Baskerville added seven digs and five service aces.
After trading the first two points of the match, the Knights netted seven straight points for an 8-1 lead. A kill by
Eric Van Horn sealed the 25-11 first set win.
Down by one, 12-11, in set two, Neumann went on to score eight of the next nine points to take a 19-13 advantage. A kill by Shortlidge gave the Knights the 25-15 second set win.
Again, in set three and down by one, 11-10, the rattled off six consecutive points for a 16-11 lead. A kill by Johnson gave the Knights the 25-16 third set win and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (2-3) will head to Immaculata on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
