ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team dropped its Atlantic East Conference opener 8-1 to Marymount University on Monday afternoon.
 
The duo of Kaitlyn Smith and Kannitha Phousouvanh-Suthong battled in doubles action but dropped the second doubles flight 8-5.
 
Smith battled to a win at second singles, 7-5, 6-2 to pick up a point for the Knights. Nicole Turner played a pro-set match at fifth singles, falling just short 10-9. Kylie Seeger also battled in singles action, dropper her third singles flight 6-4, 6-3.
 
Neumann (1-3, 0-1 Atlantic East) will host Marywood for another conference matchup on Wednesday beginning at 3:30 PM.
