CAMDEN, N.J. – The Neumann University baseball team dropped a 10-4 decision at Rutgers University Camden on Tuesday evening under the lights.

Thomas Carroll started the game on the mound and took the loss. He allowed six runs on five hits over 1.2 innings. Brian Van Etten pitched 3.1 innings in relief and allowed two runs on four hits. Pat Leighton pitched two scoreless innings. Vic Mejia started the ninth inning and allowed two runs. Billy Hunt finished the ninth with two strikeouts.

The Knights opened the scoring in the first inning, plating two runs on two wild pitches. After two quick outs in the bottom of the first, the Scarlet Raptors tied the game at two with three singles, a walk and a hit-by-pitch.

Rutgers-Camden scored four runs in the bottom of the second for a 6-2 advantage. In the top of the third, Nick Glebocki singled and scored on one of Shawn Vega's three hits in the game.

Down 10-3 heading into the ninth inning, Ryan Lopez was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. He moved to third on a single by Alec Silverman and scored on a wild pitch. With two walks and a single, the Knights loaded the bases with one out, but a weird foul-out double play ended the rally.
