ARLINGTON, Va.- The Neumann University baseball team wrapped up the 2022 season with a split at Marymount University in an Atlantic East Conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Knights took game one 7-4 while the Saints won the nightcap 11-1.

Will Hart pitched a complete game for the win in game one. Over the 7.0 innings, the senior allowed four runs on two hits and struck out 11.

The Knights struck first with four runs in the top of the third. With the bases loaded,
Philip Pfaffman scored on a wild pitch for 1-0 game. Neumann loaded the bases again and
Zach Ray hit a two-run single. The Knights added a fourth run on another wild pitch for a 4-0 lead.

In the fourth,
Marcus White singled in
Colin Pollard for a 5-0 score. The Saints plated four runs in the fifth to pull within one, 5-4.

Neumann answered with two insurance runs in the sixth as
Stephen Caruso scored on a wild pitch and Ray was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Pfaffman for the 7-4 score.

In game two, Marymount scored two runs in the third and nine in the fourth for its 11 runs. Neumann scored its lone run on yet another wild pitch as White crossed the plate in the sixth.

Brennan Hatala started game two on the mound and went 3.1 innings.
Billy Hunt finished the fourth inning.
Brian Van Etten pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits and no runs before the game was called after seven innings.

Neumann finishes the season 13-22 overall and 6-12 in conference play.
