ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer battled in a 2-1 loss to Lebanon Valley College on Saturday afternoon.
Gianni Smith scored his first collegiate goal in the 11
th minute of the game as he scored off a pass from
Chris Siemien.
The Knights would hold the 1-0 lead until the 35
th minute when the Flying Dutchmen scored when they intercepted a clear from keeper
Seth Walker. The teams went into halftime knotted at one.
Early in the second half, Lebanon Valley took a 2-1 lead. The Knights had good looks during the rest of the half but could not get the ball in the back of the net again.
Each team had 19 shots overall and seven shots on net. The Knights had seven corner kicks but could not convert.
Walker finished with five saves in net. Smith let Neumann in shots with five while
Jake Kuzmick had four.
Neumann (2-6) heads to Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday for the final tune-up before conference action begins. The game is slated for begin at 6:00 PM.
