Stiles Nets Three, Many Others Score First Collegiate Goals in 8-0 Win

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team dominated Washington Adventist University, picking up an 8-0 win on Thursday evening.

Morghan Stiles netted three goals for the Knights. Rebecca Spence and Dari Troilo each handed out two assists. Leona Macrina made two saves in net as she and Lex Navarro split time in the shutout win.

Caitlin Llewellyn led the Knights with five shots. Emily Montague and Maggie Miller each added four as Neumann tallied 28 shots overall, 16 coming on net.

Neumann scored its first goal in less than five minutes into the game as Stiles scored her first goal. Spence put the ball in play to Alexa McCracken on a corner kick. Stiles received the ball from McCracken and put the ball in the back of the net.

Stiles netted her second goal less than four minutes later off another pass from Spence. Less than a minute later, Chloe Britton scored off a pass from Emily Cooper for a 3-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. Just before halftime, Montague scored her first tally at Neumann with shot from outside the box for a 4-0 score at the break.

Stiles notched a hat trick with a goal in the first minute of the second half. A minute later, Anna Poehlmann scored her first collegiate goal off a pass from Troilo. Troilo picked up her second assist as she got the ball to Kyleigh Joniec for her first goal as a Knight in the 57th minute. Wrapping up the scoring and firsts, Miller netted her first collegiate goal in the 84th minute off Kera McKnight;s first assist.

Neumann (3-6-2) opens conference play on Saturday when it travels to Marymount University. Action is slated to start at 1:00 P.M.
