ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team picked up an 87-46 win over Centenary University on Saturday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.
Lauren Klieber scored a career high 30 points in the game, including hitting six three-pointers. The sophomore also grabbed eight rebounds.
Chelsea Keebler netted 13 points,
Aubrie Breisblatt added 10 and
Jacqueline Wardrop tallied nine. All nine Knights that saw the time in the game made at least one basket.
Terea Hunt anchored the defense with 13 rebounds.
The Knights opened the game by scoring the first five points. The Cyclones answered with the next six points. Neumann ended the quarter on an 18-2 run, with Centenary's only basket coming with seven seconds left in the quarter, for a 23-8 score after one.
That run proved to be enough of a lead as the Cyclones could only get to within nine in the second quarter. Breisblatt capped the scoring in the second and the Knights took a 40-22 lead into halftime.
The Knights didn't let up in the second half and continued to build their lead to come away with the 87-46 conference win.
Neumann (10-8, 3-2 Atlantic East) heads to Cabrini on Wednesday for an Atlantic East doubleheader with the men beginning at 6:00 PM.
