IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Neumann University women's soccer team defeated Immaculata University 5-3 on Wednesday evening in an Atlantic East Conference match-up.
Immaculata started the game off early, scoring first in the fifth minute for a 1-0 lead.
Less than two minutes later,
Dylan Brown scored her first collegiate goal to tie the game at one. The Knights were able to add two more goals in another two-minute span as
Morghan Stiles and
Catherine Miller scored in the 15
th and 17
th minute.
Anna Poehlmann tallied the assist on Millers goal and a 3-1 Knights lead.
In the 21
st minute, Miller struck again, netting her second goal of the night. The Knights took the 4-1 lead into halftime.
The Mighty Macs struck quickly, for a 4-2 game just over a minute into the second half. Immaculata pulled within one, 4-3, in the 65
th minute.
Chloe Britton scored an insurance goal in the 80
th minute for a 5-3 score.
Alexis Navarro made eight saves in net for the win.
Neumann (6-5-2, 2-1-1 Atlantic East) returns home on Saturday and will host Gwynedd Mercy beginning at 1:00 PM.
