ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team defeated Wilkes University 3-0 on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-13, 25-12, 25-22.
 
Regan Hickey led the Knights with 13 kills and a .524 hitting percentage along with 11 digs. Lauren Garvey added 10 kills. Dani Smith handed out 28 assists. The team tallied 15 service aces, led by Hickey and Katela Villasenor with three each.
 
The Knights jumped out to a 10-2 lead early in the first set. A Hickey kill gave Neumann the first set win. Set two as about the same as the first and Neumann took a 2-0 lead on an attack error by Wilkes.
 
The Knights took a 12-6 lead in the third set. The Colonels scored eight of the next nine points for a 14-13 edge. The teams then went back and forth, trading points. A Delaney Jack service ace put the Knights at set point, 24-21. Wilkes was able to score one more point before Hickey sealed the match win with another kill.
 
Neumann (12-7) will travel to Puerto Rico over the weekend for a couple exhibitions games. The Knights return home next Wednesday to begin conference action against Immaculata.
