ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Soccer team upended the Marywood University Pacers by a score of 1-0 in an Atlantic East Conference match on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
 
The Knights controlled much of the play against the physical Pacers, outshooting Marywood by a 10-0 margin, but only one Neumann shot was on the frame of the goal. Marywood started to challenge the Knights' defense as the second half began but it was Neumann who would strike. In the 75^th minute, the Knights were awarded a corner kick. Eddie Proud drove it across the six-yard box and Gianni Smith headed in his first goal of the season to secure the win.
 
Proud and Jon Zubert led the Neumann attack with three shots each, with two of Zubert's challenging the goalkeeper. Jake Kuzmick took two shots, along with Christian Worthington. Seth Walker did not need a save for his second shutout of the season.
 
Neumann(4-4-1, 2-0 Atlantic East) will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Cabrini University in another Atlantic East Conference showdown. The game is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
