Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Neumann University men's ice hockey team had a big second period to defeat Arcadia University 6-2 on Tuesday evening in a United Collegiate Hockey Conference (UCHC) game.
Six different Knights lit the lamp for the win.
Cole DeFazio made 24 saves in net for the win.
Cameron Hatziioannou opened the scoring at the 15:21 mark of the first period. Neumann held the 1-0 into the first intermission.
Yancy Whitaker scored the first of four goals midway through the second period.
Tyler Kennedy tallied the assist for a 2-0 lead.
PJ Demitrio scored a minute and a half later with assists from
Wyatt Wong and
Tyler Inlow. With just under four minutes left in the period.
Tyler Kulas joined the scoreboard from an assist from Whitaker. A minute later,
Joe DiGiulio scored off Whitakers second straight assist and the Knights took a 5-0 lead after two periods.
Chase Cochran made the score 6-0 1:21 into the third period.
Luke Croucher had the assist. Arcadia spoiled the shutout bid with a goal at the 4:45 mark and another midway through the period.
Neumann (2-4, 2-3 UCHC) will return home this weekend to host Chatham in a pair of UCHC games. Friday's action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
