SALISBURY, Md. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell at Salisbury University 82-78 on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Jalen Vaughns led the Knights with 32 points.
TJ Lewis scored 19 points and
Kyle Thompson added 10.
Jarell Keel grabbed nine rebounds.
The first half featured five tied scores as the teams remained close throughout. The Knights held the largest lead of the half of four a few times. Knotted at 37 in the final minute before the break, the Sea Gulls scored the final basket for a 39-37 edge.
Salisbury built a lead as large as eight in the beginning of the second half. Midway through half, the teams were tied at 62 on a layup by Vaughns. The Sea Gull had a small edge as the clock continued to run. A jumper by Thomspon with 32 seconds left brought the Knights to within one, 79-78. Salisbury went 3-for-4 from the line in the final seven seconds to secure the 82-78 win.
Neumann (2-5) heads to Eastern on Tuesday for more non-conference action beginning at 7:00 PM.
