Knights Pull Away in Fourth for Win Against King’s

ASTON, Pa, - The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team used a six goal final quarter to pick up their first win of the season, defeating King's College, 13-3 on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Brendan Boschi led the Knights with five goals and two assists. Fellow first-year, Renzo Garone, added a hat-trick and an assist. Emmett Wexler, Justice Brovero, and Wyatt Belotti each added a goal and an assist.
 
Neumann got the offense rolling after 2:15 of play when Kyle Daly scored his second of the season. Garone would follow up on an assist from Canon Coyle for an early 2-0 lead. King's would get on the board at the six minute mark but, with 55 seconds left, Garone would strike for a two goal lead after 15 minutes.
 
Boschi continued the goal-scoring a minute and 46 seconds into the second before the Monarch's pulled back within two, just over a minute later. Boschi and Brovero closed out the half with goals 3:07 apart and the Knights took a 6-2 lead into the break.
 
The Knights and Monarchs traded single markers in the third as Wexler would score on the man-up. In the final quarter, Neumann would pull away with six straight goals to close the game. Boschi and Garone scored 39 seconds apart then Boschi scored again on the man-up. With 6:55 left, Boschi received a pass from Dalton Hofmann for his final goal of the afternoon. Sam Nice and Belotti would round out the offense for the 10-goal victory.
 
Jake Methlie had another dominant performance winning 11 of the 13 faceoffs he took. Coyle led the ground ball effort with seven while Hofmann and Methlie followed with six. Jake Marchiafava made three saves for the win.
 
Neumann (1-2) is back in action on Saturday as they visit Wilkes University. The game is scheduled for a 1pm start.
