ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University women's tennis team, the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic East Conference postseason, fell at No. 1 seeded Marymount University 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon in semifinal action.
The duo of
Hannah Asaka and
Dari Troilo picked up Neumann's long point in doubles action, coming away with an 8-2 win in the first flight.
Troilo scored the only other point for the Knights, winning 6-1, 6-0 at second singles. In playoffs, as soon as a team reaches five points, the match is called.
Alura Troilo and
Kayleigh DellaVecchio were each leading their singles matches but did not complete the second set.
Neumann (3-4) isn't finished yet and it will host Notre Dame (Md.) next Wednesday in a rescheduled non-conference contest beginning at 4:00 PM.
