Women’s Lacrosse to Face Cabrini in Semifinals Action

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team is the No. 4 seed in the Atlantic East Conference playoffs and will head to No. 1 seeded Cabrini University on Wednesday for semifinals action.
 
The Knights advanced to the semifinals with a 24-9 win over Immaculata University in the first round. Lindsey Fagan scored a season-high 10 goals and two assists for 12 points to lead the Knights. Maggie Blemings also had some season-highs with three goals and seven assists for 10 points. Maggie Miller tallied three goals and two assists. Brylin Adams added two goals and three assists. Catriona Corrigan made nine saves in net for the win. Jayana Murray led the team with seven draw controls. Fagan grabbed five.
 
The Knights are currently 12-5 this season heading into the semifinals and went 3-3 in conference action. Cabrini is 12-5 on the season and went 6-0 in the Atlantic East.
 
The Knights and Cavaliers met in the first conference meeting of the season for Neumann. Fagan led the team with two goals and an assist in a 21-5 loss. Alison Mallon tallied four draw controls. Corrigan made 12 saves in net.
 
On the season, Fagan leads the Knights with 69 goals and 11 assists for 80 points. Adams has tallied 51 goals and 17 assists for 68 points. Blemings has handed out a team-high 44 assists.
 
Fagan (68) and Adams (59) also leads the team in draw controls. Murray has added 22 while Mallon has 27. Corrigan has started all 17 games in net and has made 141 saves in over 1,000 minutes.
 
No. 2 Marywood hosts No. 3 Marymount in the other semifinal game on Wednesday. Th winners will then play for the 2023 Atlantic East Championship on Saturday, May. 6.
